What an exciting preschool field trip to the Ginger Farm! Our Preschool 4 students had hands-on experience with gardening, exploring the wonders of nature, and enjoyed a day of fun-filled activities like riding buffalo and mudslide! The students also had the opportunity to plant seeds, learn about different plants and animals, and discover how food grows. It’s a day of curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles as we connect with the earth and each other!
Students were able to observe silkworms at each stage in their life cycle and then compared these stages to the mealworm life cycle studied in class. Students also got the chance to observe how silk is made into clothes and various accessories.
Through practical instruction and cooperative cooking, the students learned how to combine flavors and use conventional cooking methods, while also gaining a deeper appreciation for the farm-to-table movement. Witnessing the growth of local herbs and plants and learning about the origins of Thai cuisine inspired the students to develop a greater respect for the diverse culinary heritage of Thailand
Grade 5 Thai class students attended a Thai cooking class where they received hands-on instruction in cooking Khao soi. They also learned about the different Thai herb ingredients and observed how the plants are grown.
