Elementary School
From Kindergarten to Grade 5, CMIS offers Thai Language, Culture, and History classes in the elementary school. Students will be divided into three levels based on their ability. Please see the course descriptions for more information.
Kindergarten (Novice)
The emphasis in this course is placed on the acquisition of basic language skills, listening, speaking, and basic vocabulary. Students learn and follow simple commands and requests. They give short statements,negative statements, and simple questions using polite ending particles. They use polite expressions for making requests, asking for forgiveness, and thanking people. They use appropriate pronouns and vocabulary that is appropriate for adults and peers at school. They recognize and copy the Thai alphabets and copy simple words, and learn to write their own names. They use polite expressions and appropriate gestures with adults.
Grade 1
เนื้อหาของวิชาภาษาไทย วัฒนธรรมไทย และประวัติศาสตร์ไทยในระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 มุ่งสร้างความ เข้าใจในเรื่องประวัติและความผูกพันของนักเรียน รู้จักบอกประโยชน์และปฏิบัติตนเป็นสมาชิกที่ดีของชุมชน นักเรียน อ่านนิทานอีสปร่วมกัน เพื่อเสริมสร้างความรู้ในเรื่องประวัติสถานที่ ชุมชนของตน และอาชีพของบุคคลในชุมชน
เสริมทักษะด้านการฟัง ดู พูด โดยนักเรียนสามารถพูดเล่าเรื่อง ตั้งคําถาม ตอบคําถามจากเรื่องที่ฟังและดูได้ สามารถอ่านออกเสียงคํา คําคล้องจอง บทอาขยาน ข้อความสั้น ๆ ได้ สามารถเขียนสะกดคํา เขียนตามคําบอก เขียนคํา และข้อความง่าย ๆ ประกอบภาพได้ เรียนหลักภาษาไทย สระไทย สระลดรูป เปลี่ยนรูป อักษรกลางและการผัน
เสียงวรรณยุกต์ รวมถึงใช้วรรณยุกต์ให้ถูกต้องนักเรียนเรียนรู้ที่จะปฏิบัติตน เพื่อให้เห็นคุณค่าและเกิดความภูมิใจในตนเองในฐานะที่เป็นสมาชิกที่ดีของสังคม ปฏิบัติตนอย่างมีมารยาทตามประเพณี วัฒนธรรม แสดงความเคารพ เช่น การไหว้ การกราบ ได้อย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม สามารถบอกได้ว่าพระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นประมุขของชาติ ยืนตรงและแสดงความเคารพเมื่อได้ยินเพลงชาติและเพลงสรรเสริญพระบารมีมีความรู้ ความเข้าใจ ในเรื่องราวของวันสําคัญต่าง ๆ ที่มีความผูกพันกับคนไทย เช่น วันพ่อ วันแม่ วันครูและวันไหว้ครู รวมถึง วัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทยที่สําคัญ ได้แก่ ประเพณีลอยกระทง ประเพณีสงกรานต์ และรู้จักสถานที่สําคัญซึ่งเป็นแหล่งวัฒนธรรมไทย มีความรู้เกี่ยวกับที่ตั้ง ของกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน รวมถึงสัตว์และดอกไม้ประจําชาติอาเซียน มีความภาคภูมิใจในประเทศชาติ และความเป็นสมาชิกอาเซียน
Thai Language and Culture Grade 1 (กลุ่ม Advanced ) Course Description
At the first grade level, the content of Thai language, Thai culture, and Thai history aims to create historical understanding and student engagement. Understand how to share benefits and behave as a responsible member of the student body. Students can read Aesop's Fables aloud together. To increase knowledge of the location's history, their community, and the occupations of the people in the community. By allowing students to tell stories, ask questions, and answer questions based on the stories they listen to and watch, the curriculum improves their listening, watching, and speaking skills.
Thai Language and Culture Grade 2 (กลุ่ม Intermediate) Course Description
The emphasis in this course is placed on the acquisition of basic language skills, such as listening and speaking and vocabulary development. Students show understanding of short-spoken phrases or statements and questions by responding with single words or short phrases. They respond briefly to simple questions.providing basic information with short phrases supported by visual cues. They make simple requests or ask permissions and use some basic colloquial expressions. Students express personal feelings with single words or short phrases.

The emphasis in this course is placed on the acquisition of basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and vocabulary development. Students learn to follow and respond to instructions. They ask Y/N questions and answer with phrases, short statements and negative statements
using polite ending particles. They use polite expressions for making requests, asking pardons , and thanking people. They use appropriate pronouns and vocabulary that is appropriate for adults and peers at school.
